This watch is one of the extremely rare examples in the full set. The Submariner achieved worldwide fame when Sean Connery wore the 6538 as James Bond in the movie Goldfinger. Collectors therefore call the early Submariner references "James Bond". The reference 6536 was only produced for three years between 1956 and 1958. This watch dates from the first quarter of the year 1957 and is therefore one of the earliest 6536 Small Crown Subs. The original Chapter Ring Gilt dial and hands are in excellent condition.
