The Rolex Explorer I Ref. 5504 from 1959 is indeed a rare find. As a supposedly more affordable "SUPER PRECISION" version of the Explorer 1 Ref. 6610, this reference was also utilized by the British NAAFI. The watch combines the elegant style of a dress watch with sporty features, including Submariner-style hands, and the extremely rare white seconds hand. The original Chapter Ring Gilt Dial and hands are in excellent condition. The watch comes with the 1959 box and papers, an impressive and undoubtedly unique full set.
